Dear Parents and Carers,
As the first week of Remote (Home) Learning concludes, it has been for the most, a relatively seamless transition. Why? because we've been here before! Obviously, it is not without its challenges and as we navigate this time together, I acknowledge that the impact is different for each of us and our families. Thank you for your positive feedback about the quality of the work provided by teachers, school communication and support offered to families.
It's important that you don’t feel overwhelmed by the work your children are being asked to complete, just do what you can. Remember, we are all doing our best under the circumstances. Teachers are available to support you and your children and can walk you through any issues that may arise. Once again the school request for assistance form has been very successful in resolving many issues and there are dedicated staff responding to requests during school hours.
Following the Premier's announcement of the extension of the stay at home (Lockdown) orders until Friday 30 July and the continuation of Remote (Home) Learning, our online platforms will feature a number of new inclusions from Monday 19 July to further support learning continuance.
- Weekly Overview of planned learning
- Instructional videos for new learning, where applicable, prepared by teachers
- Zoom check-ins with teachers (Questions and answers)
- Presentation of Merit Awards each Friday by teachers
School remains open for students who have no other option. Supervision will be provided for students to access the remote learning materials, students will not participate in traditional classroom learning. The teaching staff will continue to work on a rotating roster with reduced supervision until otherwise advised. Therefore, students may not be supervised by their classroom teacher.
Importantly, any student who is unwell, even with very mild symptoms, must stay home. Following sickness with flu-like symptoms, please ensure your child is free of symptoms and can present a negative COVID-19 test before they return to school.
Once again, Catholic Education Diocese of Wollongong (CEDoW) will be offering support to families, conscious of the significant financial impact that many may be experiencing as a result of the continuing COVID-19 restrictions. I encourage all parents and carers to read carefully the measures available to families in the following letter.

As always, thank you for your understanding and continued support.
Go gently and stay safe.

School buses will run as per normal for those students that have to attend school.
Please find below information in relation to the current measures we are taking while remaining operational during the lockdown, our Before and After School Care service will continue to operate for any children that require it.
Managing Drop-off and Pick-up
Drop-off and pick-up procedure for parents and carers bringing children on site.
- We have asked that only one adult is to come onto school grounds to collect their child/ren. The authorised person and their time on site are recorded with our digital sign out procedure and our QR Code on display.
- Parents and Carers do not enter the indoor premises, but rather wait external to the service operational area until their child/ren and belongings are gathered by one of our Educators. We have set up physical barriers to ensure that the distancing requirements are met. Please see photo attached (Additional signage has been added since this photo was taken).
- Parents and Carers are asked to socially distance from our Educators and any other adults and wear masks unless an exemption applies.
- We are working with parents and carers to make drop off or pick up as brief as possible and if a lengthy conversation is necessary, that they are to do this over the phone with our Educators and not on site.
Our Educators are wearing masks when indoors or when managing the process of drop-off or pick-up with parents/carers in the outdoor area.
